Run Britain Day 83: River Ribble to further than Blackpool

Today was supposed to be another short one because I’m still feeling a bit wobbly after my north Wales set-back. But I got carried away to be back on a promenade and ran beyond Blackpool to the first Subway I could find (because I suddenly had a craving for one). It meant that my journey back to the funny hostel in Preston was longer than it should have been have been, but I’m glad I felt up for it.

Perhaps I was inspired by the Tower Ballroom at Blackpool.

I have wanted to be invited onto Strictly Come Dancing since its second series, 21 years ago (around the same time that I first thought running around the coastline of Britain would be a cool thing to do). I have gone through countless different ‘dream partners’ and ‘showdance songs’ over the years (I am currently on ‘Vito’ and ‘Dancing Through Life’). And am secretly hoping that running Britain will make me famous enough to be invited on.
