Run Britain Day 35: From Looe to St Austell

Another spectacularly hilly day, but as it’s going to be like this for a while yet, perhaps I should stop complaining about it.

Today I sat atop a stunning bit of coastline path and gave an interview to BBC Radio Suffolk where I chatted about three important songs from one year of my life. I picked 2025 and three songs which I am listening to a lot of the coast path. ‘Dancing through life’ is nine minutes long, so that keeps me going for a decent chunk.

By the end of the day I was joined by Sarah and the lovely Atlas - my first bit of running company this whole week.

It’s been an interesting test to spend the whole week completely unaccompanied. I’ve enjoyed it in parts, but it has also been exhausting. Up until this week, I hadn’t had to worry about food or washing or minimising steps taken outside of the running. The additional logistics which go into doing something like this self-supported are pretty complicated.

But I am celebrating the end of this lonely stretch with a couple of slightly more luxury nights in Carlton Bay. Before hitting Lizard in a campervan at the start of next week.
