Run Britain Day 34: From Plymouth to Looe
Today I took a nap on the side of the coast path.
I looked up at my next hill and my body said, ‘nope, not yet’. So I lay down and fell asleep for a full 20 minutes.
It’s lucky that the snow hasn’t come to Cornwall. And although it is chilly in the wind, my nice sheltered spot in the sunshine on the edge of the hill was actually nice and warm.
I was then joined by a man who runs this section of the coast path ‘quite regularly’ and says he normally has it all to himself, which I can believe. Apart from a few people enjoying the beaches, I am not seeing a soul as I drag myself over the hills.
The mountain goat man was slightly too fast for me and I decided that napping on the grass was probably a sign that I was slightly under-fuelled, so I went into a lovely pub in Seaton (my third Seaton this week) for an excellent burger.
I knew the South West Coast Path was going to be tough, but I didn’t realise it was going to be sleeping on the edge of the path kind of tough. It is beautiful though.
