Run Britain Day 155: Inverness to Nairn

A day of head-down, get it done.

I don’t like running through cities, although today I did run past both a Ramdens and a Greggs in the centre of Inverness, which reminded me to check my portfolio of great British companies. Not good. I shouldn’t have looked.

To be fair, Ramdens is just about holding its ground. But not enough to offset the terrible collapse in the share price of Greggs, MONY and Relx since I bought them. If I had a little bit more time I would probably have a proper look at what is going on with these companies and maybe take advantage of the lower share prices. But it’s definitely not something that is at the front of my mind at the moment.

Checking my portfolio has reminded me how much I love companies research though. It’s actually something that I miss a bit while I am out here pounding the pavements. Both Greggs and Ramsdens are north-east based companies so perhaps I will find the time to do some proper research as I head down the coast.

It’s also not been a great day on the body-function front. My blisters have ballooned into horrifying things. I’ve got a slight niggle in my left foot and weird pain behind both knees. I’ve also got some stomach issues, which are making running incredibly uncomfortable.

Lottie walked out from Nairn to walk me in for the last bit of the day. I was grateful for the company and relieved to arrive to our latest beautiful parking spot for the night.
