Run Britain Day 5: From Peldon to Maldon
I’ve been pretty down on the Essex coastline and countryside.
This is not a part of the coastline I am likely to come back to. Nor is it a part of the coastline that I would have ever likely come to if I wasn’t attempting to do the whole thing. But I am glad I have seen it. The Old Hall Marshes are peaceful and enchanting. The Blackwater Estuary leading up to Maldon is lovely, especially with the sun shining on it as it was today.
I did have a troubling morning with fields, farms and fences in my way. And I had a troubling afternoon with emotional turmoil. This evening is the most exhausted I have felt so far. But perhaps that is partly the dread of running in tomorrow’s storm.
For now, hopefully sleep will cure all problems.
