Run Britain Day 19: Brighton to Worthing
A shorter day to accommodate the slower pace (walking) and a much needed visit to the Dogs Trust in Shoreham-on-Sea - which cheered me up immensely after another difficult day on my injured leg.
Walking with the pain is exhausting. Far more exhausting than running the full marathon distance. And the changing logistics which come from a couple of days of delay are also throwing in a bit of extra stress. But Lottie (who is currently hosting me in Brighton) continues to go above and beyond. And in addition to being my chef, therapist and all round cheerleader, is also now helping sort my accommodation for the next few weeks. I am incredibly grateful.
But I am also incredibly tired and the thought of another six to eight hours on my feet tomorrow is not filling me with joy. Which is a shame because this should be a lovely part of the coast to be running.
I hope the massage, stretching and relax this evening will work its magic as soon as possible.
