Run Britain Day 16: Dungeness to Bexhill

Running out of Dungeness behind the power station wasn’t great. But everything else about today has been wonderful, exciting and varied.

From Lyd out to Camber Sands is a fantastic path and then the beach is spectacular - the best one yet. Emily joined me for a solid 15km through Rye and around to Winchelsea, which have risen to the top of my leaderboard of britain’s coastal towns.

From Winchelsea is where things got a little dicier. The Hastings Country Park is spectacular, but it does include over 3000ft of elevation, and with the sun setting I was starting to get worried about the daylight.

Today was a long and a tough one. And tomorrow is set to be even longer.

But writing this in a lovely room at The Albany Guesthouse in Bexhill with some leftover wedding cake and lasagne, and I am sure that by the morning my legs will be ready for another 35 miles.
